Q: When is the best time to do an infrared thermal survey ?

A: For heat loss and moisture detection best results are obtained during the heating season, that’s October to May. Under floor heating and pipe work inspections can be done anytime.

Q: Do I have to prepare my home prior to an IR survey ?

A: Ideally the inside air temperature of the building needs to be about eight to ten degree warmer than the outside air temperature. On occasion furniture needs to be moved from a wall where a problem is suspected.

Q: Do IR cameras emit harmful radiation ?

A: No, IR cameras are designed to register heat radiation only.
