The Green Diary is now no longer printed but we have left these pages on-line to give a flavour of what it achieved. We hope to run it as an on-line diary in the near future How do people in the North East of Scotland find out about sustainable development issues? How do those people access information on walks, recycling, sustainable transport and organic growing? How can those people change their lifestyles to live more sustainably and do their bit to save the planet? An answer to these questions is provided by our 8-page monthly publication the Green Diary. 3,000 copies are distributed free to groups, organisations, council offices, schools, libraries, community centres and businesses across the region. Promoting dates, events, best practice and promotions from up to 50 sustainable development organisations working in the North-East, we focus on how global sustainable development issues are tackled locally. In 2006 our readers told us the Green Diary “provides the best information and diary of events in the area in a well-laid out, easy to read style” Some Green Diary readers now: understand more about saving energy and living a greener lifestyle; do more regular recycling; like to shop at farmers’ markets; walk and cycle more; and pick up idea as a result of reading the Green Diary. And one contributor commented “I think the Green Diary does a great job – if it didn’t exist, it would be necessary to start one” Click here for the latest issue: December / January The Green Diary also has its own website.
