Who’s the garden for?

That’s an easy question…..everyone!! It doesn’t matter if you are old or young, an experienced gardener or brand new. Everyone is welcome to come along and join in.

What could I be doing?

There are a range of activities on offer each session, such as sowing seeds, cultivating plants, planting trees and building and painting raised beds. There’s a diverse mix of ages and interests and everyone works at their own pace. It’s all free and cuppas provided!

When does it run?

Every Monday  from 1–4pm, plus a drop-in themed event 1-4pm on the first Thursday of the month, where we do things like cooking the produce or having workshops to learn new skills. Come for all or part of the session.

I’d like to get involved……

Come along to one of our sessions, fill in a short form and join in on the gardening fun! Or if you prefer you can complete a form at home to take along with you before attending for the first time. The registration form is available on the Downloads page or we can post or email it to you if you prefer.

REAP’s Food Waste Cookery Course (Part 1) @ Moray College UHI @ Moray College UHI

Come and join us for our 3 part Food Waste Challenge at Moray College UHI, Moray Street, Elgin, IV30 1JJ

A FREE hands on practical and informative 3 part course which is kindly funded by Climate Challenge Fund and is held over 3 dates.

Tuesday 3rd March 4.30pm – 5.30pm

Tuesday 10th March 4.30pm – 6.30pm

Tuesday 17th March 4.30pm – 6.30pm

This course will help you figure out how much food is really going to waste in your home and what you can do to waste less. By making small shifts in how you shop, prepare, and store food, you can save time and money and use the valuable resources used in the course to stop food from going to waste!

  • Learn to grow nutrient dense micro-leaves and sprouts all year round
  • Take some home – up-cycled materials and grow in the comfort of your own kitchen
  • Sow and take home tender veg seeds to start off inside

REAP’s Introduction to Permaculture Workshop – A Greener way to garden!! @ The Ash Room, Elgin Community Centre
Mar 7 @ 10:00 am – 3:00 pm

This FREE workshop is lead by experienced Permaculture instructor Jonny Barton, booking is essential.

The morning indoor session will start at 10am in the Ash Room in Elgin Community Centre, Trinity Road, Elgin IV30 1UE with a visit to the nearby Maryhill Community Gardens (behind Maryhill Medical Practice, about a 15 minute walk) after lunch. At Maryhill Community Gardens we will have a hands on session.

Permaculture is the conscious design and maintenance of agriculturally productive systems which have the diversity, stability, and resilience of natural ecosystems. It is the harmonious integration of the landscape with people providing their food, energy, shelter and other material and non-material needs in a sustainable way.

Refreshments provided, please bring a packed lunch.

Please wear suitable clothes and footwear and a notepad and pencil to take down any notes.
