The Green Deal was launched in January, 2013 and aimed to provide people with the opportunity to install energy saving measures and renewables with no up-front cost. In 2015, Government funding of the Green Deal Finance Company was stopped so no further Green Deal assessments and installations will be carried out.
If you have already installed Green Deal improvements and are making repayments through your electricity bill, you won’t be affected. Your Green Deal provider will still be responsible for maintenance and warranties so you should contact them directly. You should also contract them if you are still going through the process of making improvements.
You can find out more by phoning the Energy Saving Scotland advice centre on 0800 512 012 or going to their website here.
